Welcome to PREMOT

An Interdisciplinary Research Network of Pre-Modern Travel Bangor University, Wales

The research network brings together scholars from across the College of Arts and Humanities at Bangor University who are researching into widely differing aspects of travel from the Bronze Age to the end of the Eighteenth Century. Our interests range from archaeological artefacts, to literary accounts, pilgrimages and patterns of religious worship, trade, warfare, colonisation, musicology, biography, cartography, tourism and guidebooks, utopian fiction and the narrative of slavery.

As a network we meet together to present research papers during the course of the academic year and details of the network’s conferences and academic events are posted on this page as they become available. If you have any further queries, don’t hesitate to contact the network co-ordinator Andrew Hiscock on a.hiscock@bangor.ac.uk
